Hawaiian Luau

About three weeks ago friends of ours from church hosted a lovely luau in their backyard! Thanks, Einarsons, for the lovely time! You all put a lot of work into that time...

The Vaughan family from church.

Our family minus Robert.
Yum!
The best were these huge banana leaves wrapped completely around a mixture of fish, chicken, spinach, and a touch of salt--my stomach's rumbling just thinking about them-seriously!
Lovely Momasita.
The view.
OK so the guys wanted to roast the pig the authentic hawaiian way--in a hole!
A lovely close-up.
Sweet Anna Marie looking so innocent *ahem*
Most of the Einarson family.
The snack table.
Mr. Einarson kindly dishing out the goods.
The sand box was a great hit.
Mr. Vaughan um, never mind.
Mrs. Vaughan and Mrs. Cheney.
Sweet :)
Mandy and Mary.
Impromptu.
Amy and her mom, Mrs. Einarson.
Dear Ali.
Even the Einarsons little ducks had leis!
Abbey's hair went a bit wacko.
In this picture you see my very favorite fruit, and my very least favorite fruits (seriously!). And no, this was not staged. Anyone care to guess which is which?

She's planning something, I know it...
Limbo time! Corey, the tallest one there (or one of the tallest ones) was actually one of the best limbo dancers (is that what you say, limbo dancers?).
Look how low he can go!
Rachel takes a try.
Don't remember his name, but he was good too (it helps when you're short).
Ellie takes a go at it.
Corey again.
Zach and Nat jumping.
And then we were on the relay race. It was called the "Tourist Race" or something like that... It involved putting on tons of stuff (as you can see). Here Kevin hurries.
Fun fun.
Amy takes the gear.
Go Amy!
Lookin' groovy Ellie.
Ashley adorns herself.
This was the killer--Mr. Einarson is such a funny guy.
He was the last one so he had to put on ALL the stuff!
Way to go!
He was on our team (my dad and I's) so my dad hugs him in joy when he crosses the finish line.
Now that's a tourist if I ever saw one.
Then we had more limbo. I think I made this one, although my face looks, um, like I'm concentrating, I guess.
Mary was good.
Mandy gets ready for a try!
I can't remember her name, but she was good too...
I don't think this is going to work...
Ashley makes it under.
And Corey finally meets his match.
The guys made a pyramid.
What better way to end an evening than with prayer...
Showing the girls how it's done *wink* Oh, nice face Ellie.
Mrs. Einarson and Mrs. Vaughan observing the fun.
A short game of musical towels took place.
Lookin' very hawaiian, Mrs. Einarson!
Mr. Cheney.
Annie and I.
Yehaw!
Whatever, Eric...
Those cute ducks again.
Now that's positively scary.
Little Miss Anna Marie.

Abbey liked the tourist relay so much that she wore most of the paraphernalia afterwards :)

Thanks for looking--have a great week!

Hello Cochran family!
This is the Wards from KC. Just wanted you to know we've really enjoyed looking at your blog (except we are sad that we aren't there!! Trying hard to refrain from feeling jealous...)
It was great to meet you guys this summer! Keep up the great pics. :)
