The Most Wonderful Day of the Year!

I know it's a bit late, but I wanted to share our wonderful Christmas day with all of you. God answered my prayers for a snow (OK, not right ON Christmas day, but the day before) so that everything was white, crisp, and beautiful. It was a perfect Christmas day--slightly overcast and COLD!

Our little Nativity scene. Oh and by the way, all these pictures were taken by pretty much everyone! The camera changed hands many times... Patricia got a camera for Christmas so some of these are from her new camera!
Art (I did NOT take this *smile*)
We started out Christmas morning as we've started pretty much all of them out: waiting for Mom and Dad to come downstairs (and it was all of 8 AM!). I read aloud from Jonah and Revelation until they came down--it was cool! :)
Stockings hung neatly in a row... We had no grinches visit our house on Christmas Eve! He probably got scared off when he heard us playing Monopoly at midnight :)
Trish is still out.
Mom's creatively wrapped gifts! (we were getting a bit low on wrapping paper).
Picture perfect.
Uncle Mike's lovely stocking.
A full Nativity set!
Patricia's cleverly wrapped gift that is supposed to look like a moose--I think.
And this one was supposed to be a snowman. These girls need more to do!
A moment between Patricia and UM. I think Patricia came out tops, as usual :)
Gloves and chocolate... What more could anybody want?
Not looking too bad for so early in the morning! (and that includes you too, dog).
Another shot of the gifts :)
My mom wanted us to take lots of pics of her awesome creation!
I love how everyone has a different facial expression in this interesting pic.

Robert begins opening!
A sweet new mouse!
Ellie begins on her cloth-wrapped treasure.
A much-needed backpack!
Sweetness.
What can it be??
A Chinese little box! Just what Patricia always wanted :)
UM's turn to open...
Perfect for all his loose change! A counting jar. He LOVED it :)
Dad got cold I guess.
Smiles all 'round.
Pretty ornament!
Dad opening his gift from Ellie and I.
Aw man I didn't get a pic! Oh well. We gave him some Lord of the Rings book ends (the Kings of Argonoth). He was totally stoked!
Patricia's art.
Nice, um, cup. Actually it's some sort of flour sieve...
I guess it made Elizabeth happy!
I got Mary Voyage of the Dawn Treader radio theater!
Robert got Patricia a camera stand. She loved it.
Happy!
Mom opens up a lovely cutting board!
And I open up some lovely brown gloves, soft as down...
And a rather, um, interesting hat. Thanks M and P!
I guess my head was a bit cold.
A matching scarf knit by none other than Patricia! What a kindness :)
Yes, very nice indeed.
Mary digging into some new treasure.
Some lovely earrings from Ellie.
Uncle Mike looks quite well in ladies' hats. *cough*
Robert anticipating...
Oh yeah babe! The new Switchfoot CD!
Mary's favorite gift of the day: her MP3 from Robert.
Robert received an excellent dart board.
Many a fun minute was spent dart throwing that Christmas afternoon.
UM laughing at some joke.
Now he's not laughing! Ha ha--a nice little Santa to keep him from getting lonely! lol
Dad grins silently to himself.
A CD!!! Dad loves music.
Mom opening a rather calender-looking package... We all wonder intensely what it can be!
Aw how surprising! A calender! :)
A lovely skirt that I gave Elizabeth. She was to ecstatic that she...
did a jig right there in the living room! LOL :)
Downhere's newest CD and Casting Crown's newest! Thanks Robert.
I am SET!
What is it, P?
Sweet smilies.
A cute camera case for P!

I love this pic! So candid and cute.
My dad begged us to get him socks this year but we cruelly said, You have enough! So Uncle Mike had compassion and bought him some. Dad nearly went through the roof!! *wink*

Jewelry from UM.
Paint brushes from UM!
And canvasses too! What a deal.
What is that??
An excellent book.
Ha ha, Dad accidentally bought Robert a shirt for Christmas that he'd received from some friends for his BD! It was a total hoot!
The lovely shirt.
Then Patricia took some pics--the next few are her art of things and people.
Cool!
Working and posing at the same time (setting the table for lunch).
P and I taking pics of each other at the same time.
"Don't mess with us" CD coming out in October of 2010!! (Mary looks a little too cheerful actually for that stern title).
Sisters sisters!
And we end with the author :)
Next... DINNER! E made these LOVELY chicken pot pies in a bowl!
After dinner we played a game called Wits and Wagers. In this singular game (never mind the way you play) there are these little discs that are erasable and we went rather nuts...
Making EYES!! Robert gives us the first creepy look.
Nice, Mary. Looks like E is having some trouble exchanging eye balls.
LOL!
Wow, scariness!
One of E's eyes has gone wrong!
Cuckoo!
The final pic of the day! Nothing like family :)

It was a simple day, but so much fun. Can't wait 'till next year which will surely be here before we know it! Praise God for another wonderful time to celebrate his birth.
