Trek to Norwood, CO--posted by katie

About two weeks ago we all took a seven hour drive (over the mountains!) to Norwood, Colorado. It was an absolutely beautiful drive (if you could ignore the twisty road--especially when my dad was driving!). These next few pictures I took on the way there...

We joked that Uncle Mike would love to live in this little shed out in the middle of nowhere (he wasn't with us).
Now that, my friends, is fit for a postcard (if I do say so myself).

At the cabin, there were a few games of Chuckle Belly between the twins and Robert. Too funny to ignore...
I, um, think Robert lost.
Robert and Dad has to do some work at the camp where we stayed (it was a Christian camp). I guess this is Pa and, um, Ma Newman (Dad's idea).
Guys goofing--what's new?
They had to break all that snow up.
Watch out!
We went on a little hike--here are the girls and Dad.
View from the trail.
Some neat ice.
Mom and Robert on the trail.

Dad and his lovely daughters :)
Another trail shot.
The girls with the camp owner's daughter, Heather. They climbed down this canyon together (I had to turn back--it got too scary!).

A view of the canyon.
The twins.
These next few pics are of the drive home. These two were actually AFTER the rest of them, but I messed up my picture order--sorry!

As you can tell, we drove home a different way, but still saw those little sheds... I wonder if anybody really lives in that?...

We apparently interrupted a real live cattle drive! Here's a little baby :)
The cows!
Cows in the distance (smart--to avoid the cattle drive).
We stopped at a rest stop and there was this lovely river...

What a nice picture...

Dad helps the ladies up :) Overall it was a good trip--but I wouldn't say it was worth a seven hour drive. Something we didn't get pictures of was cross-country skiing! That was more fun than downhill skiing, in my opinion.
