Family Camp 09

Right before heading for FL on August 22nd, our family attended Family Camp 09 (with a lot of folks from Reformation Church here in CO) in Glorietta, NM.

Family Olympics Day! Warming up with tug o' war.
One had to keep their feet on the wood--whoever stepped off first lost. Trish shows us what she can do!
Robert schooling Ben, looks like.

We await our turn at Family Olympics (there were so many families, two heats had to be organized).
Meanwhile Robert takes a loss to Dad while Ben gives helpful hints from the sidelines.
Looks like Dad is about to lose it!
Marie and Mr Swanson's daughter (can't remember her name!). We're still waiting for our turn.
They've got it down!
As for these two--they need some practice :) But they sure are cute, which more than makes up for it.

Our turn! The Three legged race was first.
The competitive people made sure to do well.
We teamed up with another family.
The Mr and Mrs.

Ellie and I--I hated doing this, for the record!
Mary and her little friend (you can click on the pictures to make them bigger).

The honorary directors.
Next was the infamous baseball bat spinning-get sick game. Turn five times with the baseball bat on your forehead!
Robert was a sport--doing it twice for our team (some people refused to do it).
Go Dad!
Mom was the counter.

Mary has a shaky start, but gets on track.
Mom gives Ellie a helping hand :)
Determination.

Determination 2 :)

Taking a breather after we came in like fifth or something. We ended up coming in third in the three-legged race!
Our awesome team.
My friend Catie and I--both in pretty red :)
Catie and I had been emailing for a while before we finally got to hang out at Family Camp, and Catie's friend Rael was also a sweet friend by the end of the week (L).
The Botkin siblings http://visionarydaughters.com/ show off their mad skills at the piano, playing a piece with three people!

Mr Botkin and his oldest son showed parts of Finding Nemo and analyzed them as we went along.
Very interesting--it was good to get all that feedback in a kids' movie! Seriously--the people who make movies (even for kids) definitely have an agenda...
Catie's little adopted sister :)
A family band performed beautiful music for the entire camp.
I think they were called "Desert Skies" and they travel around doing this--isn't that neat!?
Mr Botkin and his son (I think his name was Isaac).
Sorry bad pic-but I had to have at least one of Nathan Clark George http://www.nathanclarkgeorge.com/ Who sang many of his beautiful God-honoring songs at family camp, blessing many I'm sure.
The auditorium.

Family camp was fun, and I'm glad we went, but FL was still WAY better. Stay tuned!
