Enjoying the Snow--posted by katie

This also is way late, but we had tons of fun in the snow on December 12th and here are the pics.

We had two snow walls. Most of the time it's too cold for snowballs to be anything but powdery unless you pack it really well, but this one day it was warm enough out that the snow was sticky--and made EXCELLENT snowballs.

Not bad, eh?

Family Picture Time!--posted by katie

On December 9th we took a family picture while at a friend's house after church. Tell me which one you like better. The first one is my mom's favorie, but I like the second one... We'll use one of these for our New Years card.

My mom's favorite
My favorite (and you'd better say this one is better or else....).

A Walk in a Snow-Covered Park--posted by katie

On December 8th we got our first major snow (at least, it was major to us). We got about four inches... And loved it! So I took the camera to the park we always go to (right across the street from our house) and snapped a few shots.

This is the huge lake at the park--partly frozen.
What a grand, old tree. I love trees.
Snow-covered landscape...

That's a duck in the water; Elizabeth and Robert walking on the path ahead of me.

Sunset Pics Taken by Mary--posted by katie

On December 3rd, there were some wild cloud formations in the sunset and Mary took some pictures. These are pretty cool... Colorado sky.

Trimming the Tree!--posted by katie

I know this is WAY late, but the most important thing isn't timing--it's memories :)

On December 2nd we got our tree and decorated it that night. What fun that one night of the year is... I'm sad it's over until next year.

My lovely mother and I, readying the ornements to put on the tree.
The guy we're staying with--Mike. He got much enjoyment out of the whole event :) (although I know he doesn't look it in this picture *laugh*).
Ellie's favorite star ornement (we have a tradition that we only put stars on our tree).
Ellie's and my hands.
Robert's art--he was quite proud of this pine cone arrangement he concocted on the mantle.
Patricia and Dad putting the lights on our lovely tree.

Mary loves the tree very much :)
And I love Mary very much.
And Trishie!

And good old Robert too...

Mary, looking at a Christmas book.
The Cochran family minus Robert.
Looks beautiful...
Our carolers that we put out every year.
Ta Da!

The Road Trip from Jefferson to Denver--Posted by Katie

Well, it's happened! We have now officially moved to Denver, Colorado. The road trip took two days and these are all the pictures we took on the way. If I do say so myself, we got some really pretty ones--fit for postcards :) We left on November 21st and got into Denver November 22nd. So enjoy, and feel free to copy the pictures to use on your desktop.
And our drive begins! These are the smoky mountains...

Mary and Patricia begin to wake up :)
Here's what I was doing until I thought of taking pictures...
We ran into some rain.

Through the window as it rains.
After lunch Robert wanted to take a picture of the cookie box because he like "naturally yummy" (?)

I like mirror pictures.

Another rainy window.
The rain is coming...

Isn't that mountain HUGE! And, believe it or not, the Rockies look even bigger!
