Within Creation

Alright I'm ending that "posted by katie" stuff since I'm the only one who ever posts on here anyway! :) Backpacking! Thanks so much, Mr Einerson, for making this happen! Six of the Cochrans and three of the Einersons had the pleasure of camping in God's beautiful creation a couple months ago. We backpacked 2-3 miles into and up Ken Caryl Valley, spent the night up there, and came down the next morning after some exploring. Anyhow, enjoy!

The very beginning of the trail was really the only flat part. I instructed them to jump and then my dad got in the way of the picture! Ah well--at least you can still see the feet.
Look at all the STUFF on all those BACKS! I wonder why it's not called "backstuffing," rather than "backpacking."
I was sort of in the middle of the group, as you can see (good photographer that I am).
Now we're getting a bit high. Check out that road we were just on! Looks like something out of Lord of the Rings... A Hobbit path, mayhap?

The sun has gone to sleep and we are still partying! Sang songs around the, um, table until about 10 PM (no campfires allowed because of fires *sad*). And Eric has on shades because the flash was unearthly bright in the dark.

Soon after this we prayed in dark, watching the flickering lights of Denver, and then headed to bed. Actually slept really well!

Mr E said that pine trees smelled like either chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla--and he was right! Just peel a bit of bark away, take a sniff, and enjoy!

Hey there. We are still alive and VERY well here in Orlando FL! Jealous? You should be :) We have had an AWESOME time. First we went to family camp in NM. After that we flew to FL and went directly to St Augustine beach where we stayed for a week RIGHT on the edge of the ocean! Had a blast boogie boarding (some of us attempted surfing *cough*), and just being with family. Now we are at the grandparents and just relaxing and enjoying life. We will be back Sep 9th. I have no way to post pics from this computer, but as soon as I'm home, be here! I have pics to post of back packing (WAY behind on that one), then pics of the twins' womanhood party, and THEN pics of our Family camp trip, and FINALLY pics of FL! So we have quite a line up. For all you in CO reading this, we miss you all and can't wait to see you! God bless.

Fourth of July in August! -posted by katie

FINALLY I am posting our super fourth of July! Sorry folks :) No excuses except, maybe, just plain old life...? Is that allowed? *wink* Well, to be quite honest, I am trying to catch up before Monday because Monday is when we leave for family camp, and the very day after we get back from family camp in NM, we are off to FL for the BEACH until Sep 9! The only dark clouds I see ahead are the plane flights (there and back--hate flying) but I'll get over it. I am hoping I will catch up, but I see honestly little hope. I work tomorrow, Saturday is super busy with a party and getting ready to go, and so is Sunday. I still have a backpacking adventure to post, and I will also have the party (the twins' womanhood party on Saturday). Anyway, never mind my rambling. Enjoy what you can get!
